The Gate Theatre has been, artistically and architecturally, a landmark building for over 200 years. Established as a theatre in 1928 by Hilton Edwards and Micheál MacLiammóir, the Gate offered Dublin audiences an introduction to the world of European and American avant-garde theatre.
As well as to the modern and classic Irish repertoire. Today the theatre continues to offer a stimulating and inclusive programme, appealing to theatregoers of all generations.
Gate Theatre Parking Spaces
Parking Spaces are available for evening performances to patrons of the Gate, within the grounds of the Rotunda Hospital. Payment of €6.00 is paid into the automatic barrier upon exit. Exact Change is needed – €2, €1 and 50c coins only. Good news, car parking will no longer need to be pre-booked or reserved.
Also, there has been a change in the opening times for the Car park, which now opens at 5.30pm until 11.30pm.
